Welcome to Kajans where people and place grow together

At Kajans, we believe lasting change begins within communities. By empowering individuals, celebrating diversity and nurturing local strengths, we are helping to build a fairer, more sustainable Birmingham.

Whether you are visiting for the first time, have supported us for many years or are looking for a way to get involved, thank you for your interest in our work.

For more than 20 years, Kajans has championed Black, African and Caribbean leadership, strengthened community resilience and created opportunities for young people facing systemic inequality. Through education, advocacy and partnership, we help people build confidence, develop skills and make their voices heard.

Our next chapter is ambitious. We are developing supported housing for young women, specialist provision for young people on the autism spectrum, vocational training and major community assets, including the landmark Muhammad Ali Site.

Across every project, one principle remains constant: local people should be stakeholders in their own future. Through community investment, shared ownership and strong partnerships, we are working to ensure that progress is not only achieved, but owned by the people who make it possible.

Thank you for being part of the Kajans journey.
