In development: this page describes work that is not yet complete.

Building homes. Strengthening communities. Creating opportunity.

Kajans Community Housing Society (KCHS) is a Community Benefit Society established to address overcrowding and housing inequality in Birmingham.

KCHS provides a transparent, accountable and community-led way to acquire assets, develop homes and reinvest value locally.

A joined-up partnership

KCHS develops the places. KCHS acquires and transforms unused or under-used buildings into high-quality homes and community spaces.

Kajans provides the support. Kajans delivers specialist supported-living services, learning and community programmes that help residents build independence and thrive.

Together, the organisations create more than housing: they create homes with purpose, rooted in neighbourhoods and shaped around long-term wellbeing.

Our housing priorities

  • Supported living for young women moving into adulthood.
  • Autism-informed housing that promotes independence and wellbeing.
  • Affordable homes for young people affected by overcrowding.
  • Community spaces for learning, connection and resilience.
