The journey has tested us, but our commitment remains strong. Kajans is making steady progress towards opening a renovated Community Creative Hub serving North and North West Birmingham and the wider city.
The project’s main capital investment comes from the UK Government’s Community Ownership Fund (COF), through the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG). The project’s 20% match funding is supported by Vaillant UK, Dulux Paints, Crown Paints, Earthbourne Paints, Prospec Lockers and Cubicals, Prem-Floor, MCS Group, community investors and other contributors.
Extensive flooding from a Severn Trent mains leak disrupted the final stages of renovation. Remedial work and drying were needed before flooring could resume and postponed deliveries could be received. These setbacks have demanded time, resources and determination, but work is moving forward.
We are working towards a welcoming place for creativity, learning, wellbeing and community connection.
